Founded in 2005 by international show jumping riders David Usón and Malen Jaume, we have created one of the finest riding schools in Spain, offering an exceptional environment where members can enjoy first-class facilities. The professionalism and technical expertise of our team, together with our continued commitment to creating a magical atmosphere around the world of horses and ponies, make La Gubia Equestrian Club an outstanding choice for leisure and sport for families living in Mallorca, representing more than 10 different nationalities.

INTERNATIONAL COACH (ADVANCED COACHING QUALIFICATION & GALLOP 9)
David Usón began competing at the age of 12, and at just 15 he won his first gold medal at the Spanish Championships. Since that April in 1985, he has gone on to win two more gold medals and two bronze medals across the Spanish Senior, Breeding and Junior Championships. He has also achieved numerous victories and podium finishes in national and international competitions.
He represented the Spanish team on numerous occasions and in different countries, with one of the highlights being the 1999 European Championships in Hickstead, where the team secured qualification for the Sydney Olympic Games. He continues to achieve success at national and international level, although his competition schedule has decreased considerably in recent years due to his dedication to raising a family and developing the ambitious La Gubia Equestrian Club project, which continues to grow.
Throughout his career as a coach, he has always been committed to learning from some of the world’s finest trainers, including Henk Nooren, Gilles Bertrand de Balanda, M. Ledermann, Philippe Guerdat, François Mathy, and others.
Today, in Mallorca, he shares all this knowledge with his team of instructors and the more than 200 students who attend his school in Bunyola. He also manages La Gubia Equestrian Club, where his university education and extensive experience as a rider and coach allow him to combine a strong business and sporting vision while creating a welcoming club environment for both children and adults.

COMPETITION COACH (TDI & GALLOP 8)
She began competing at the age of 12, winning regional and national competitions from a very young age. She was twice Spanish Junior Championship runner-up, won a bronze medal in the Young Riders category, and represented the Spanish national team on several occasions, achieving seventh place at the 1998 European Young Riders Championships in Lisbon.
As a coach, she is a valuable asset to our competition school thanks to her experience, her strong connection with students, and her close and direct relationship with their parents.
She is also an entrepreneur, holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from ESADE, is co-founder of La Gubía Equestrian Club, and plays a valuable advisory role in the Club’s management, as well as in its business and sporting strategy.
RIDING SCHOOL DIRECTOR
Our riding school instructor specialises in teaching children and is an excellent rider and educator, with more than 10 years of experience and 6 years as part of our team. She has a special talent for teaching children and adults with horses and ponies, upholding the sporting values of our school while ensuring that every student has a fun and rewarding experience in every lesson.
DIRECTOR OF THE VAULTING SCHOOL
Originally from Germany, she is considered one of the finest lungers in Spain and has played a key role in some of the Spanish team’s best results at European and World Championships. Not only is she a leading figure in this equestrian discipline, but she also instils in all her students the sporting values of determination, discipline, perseverance, and teamwork—essential qualities for success both in vaulting and in life.
HEAD INSTRUCTOR OF THE VAULTING SCHOOL
With a degree in Sports Science, she was for many years one of Spain’s leading vaulters, winning several gold medals at the Spanish Championships and representing the Spanish vaulting team at major international events, including European Championships and the World Equestrian Games.
Today, she dedicates part of her time and experience to training the next generation of champions at our vaulting school, while instilling strong sporting values that help all our students face the challenges of the future with confidence and independence.
SECRETARY
Our secretary, Silvia, ensures that our clients feel well looked after, making sure that their services and their horses’ needs are properly managed and kept up to date.
With her friendly and cheerful manner, she also assists our clients in Spanish, English, and Mallorcan. In addition, she keeps our instructors’ schedules up to date, manages the paperwork for your horses, and coordinates the travel logistics for our competition team.
HEAD OF STABLES
Originally from Brazil, Danilo specialises in horse care and natural horsemanship and is responsible for the wellbeing and daily care of all our horses. He has a special sensitivity and natural connection with horses, and his experience working with all types of horses in Brazil, the United States, and Australia gives our clients the peace of mind they expect when it comes to the care of their horses.
STABLE MAINTENANCE & CLEANING
Oumar is our stable supervisor, the person we can always rely on to ensure our horses always have clean bedding, their daily forage ration, and the very best care.
